He did a root canal that I was originally told was not necessary by another dentist, and did such a poor job that he broke the tooth next to it and the molar directly beneath it. The whole time he was working on my teeth his assistant kept coming in to tell him he had to hurry because he was late for his next appointment, so he rushed through the whole procedure and basically refused to file the crown down enough to feel comfortable in my mouth. When he was done and said it wasnt going to get any better than that, I felt like I had a rock in my mouth when I bit down. When he rushed out to see his next patient, one of the interns he had working there who was just out of college brought me a paper to sign confirming that I was satisfied with the procedure and the results. I expressed my concern to him and he told me "They always do that here, do not let them bully you into signing this paper until you are happy with your teeth". He then went and spoke to the dentist, and he came back and finished the job on my crown. Since then, I have lost all trust in most dentists, although there are a few exceptions. The irony of that experience is the dentist office was called "Gentle Dental", which is the complete opposite of the experience I had there.

I had one of those “benevolent dictators” as my dentist when my insurance plan changed and I was forced to find a new dentist.
